99. Tour The Arnos Vale Cemetery, Bristol

The Arnos Vale cemetery is actually an active place, with a deep history and both free and private guided tours that tell the story.

Opened in 1839 and set in 45 acres of woodland, it contains memorials of at least 300,000 people, most of whom lost their lives in service of their country. Notable figures as well as ordinary locals are laid to rest here.
